New Method of Searching Online

It is amazing how quickly the internet changes. What you thought was right three weeks ago when it comes to internet marketing could be obsolete today.
Take for example the way people are using new methods of searching online. Nowadays, Facebook, Youtube and Twitter are slowly changing the way we conduct our searches. When we are looking to find an item to buy online, many web consumers are starting to use their personal network to filter the data coming at them instead of using outright the search engine option.
When looking for a video, people rarely go to Google to search instead they go directly to YouTube. Do you know that demand for video content has made YouTube the No. 2 search engine, ahead of Yahoo? When you want to learn about someone you are considering for a job, do you go to Google first or do you find out if the person has a LinkedIn or Facebook profile?
These and many other examples are showing how decison making have been influenced by the rising popularity of social media. Online businesses are now putting premium on interacting with their web traffic and adding value to their experiences online.
But does this mean that search engines are going away as thing of the past? I dont think so. What I believe is that these giant search engine corporations would morphed into social media friendly. Traditional search will begin to converge with social media, giving a more real time search by indexing these social media players on higher rate than other sites. But until this is realized, online marketers would have to reach out to each individuals by using their social graphs.
