Why You Started Affiliate Marketing & Where You'll Be Headed

For those of you who are into affiliate marketing and specifically for affiliates, how long to do you plan to work at it? Until you're old and grey or more of a 'get rich and retire when I'm 40' kind of plan.
Many affiliates start of with the intention to earn additional income, while others is to work towards generating sufficiently consistent income to leave their day job. Others as a means to do their own thing, work from home and have more free time for whatever reasons (marriage, kids, sleep, etc).
Some others, when they start out, finding themselves learning new sets of skills and knowledge which helps them to branch out to other money making opportunities (web design, copywriting, online marketing, SEO marketing, writing ebooks, etc) and prospering in different online money making methods.
Some never making much, and treating it as a small income to collect enough to buy some luxury products or to go to a vacation.
Different affiliates with different expectations and achieving different results.
Affiliate Marketing requires you to constantly work at it, to know the industry and to keep up with technological advances or innovation in the internet. There's always exciting developments and there's constantly new things to look forward to every year.
