The Recession is Over!
Happy Days are here again - or at least knocking at our door - as Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke recently told US Congress. The financial crisis that had changed the way consumers spend may have already stopped its contraction. Mid-term reports had shown that seven of the 10 indicators in the Conference Board Leading Economic Index pointed upward, including manufacturing hours worked and unemployment claims. There is now a growing consensus among analysts that economic activity will increase slightly over the remainder of 2009.
While it's been said that some verticals in the affiliate industry managed to thrive during tough economic times, a confidence boost to the consumer spending will give a shot in the arm to the whole industry. Maybe it's not yet ripe for irrational exuberance but it’s definitely time to position your campaigns to be responsive as credit starts to loosen up further encouraging to consumers start spending again.
Now is the time to begin preparing your business to emerge from the recession and position itself to take advantage of new opportunities. Take a closer look at the industry, operations and future opportunities. This should allow you to prosper in the improving economic environment and take full advantage of opportunities. Avoiding losses due to failing ventures and having access to key allies, is crucial to surviving and thriving as the economy improves.
