Well Yahoo has managed to dodge the bullet for now, with their Q1 profit and revenue beating Wall Street's estimates.

So the takeover bid by Microsoft on Yahoo will drag on.

Yahoo had a First Quarter profit of $542 million, with most of it (some $401 million) coming from IPO of Alibaba.com, a chinese e-commerce site owned by Yahoo.

They have plenty of high value sites and if only they were utilized better. Too little to late?

On other news Microsoft is starting work on a web based software system called Live Mesh.

What it hopes to achieve one day is to link a wide variety to devices together through the internet. It's about controlling different devices, having remote control, running applications, software, music, video... files in one device with another. Think home PCs, notebook, Office PC, handhelds, Xbox, handphones... basically any device that can connect to the internet or given the ability to connect to the internet.

Big Companies with the money & resources to take on big innovative projects.
