Ebay Paypal Helps Sellers Sell Digital Products with Payloadz

Posted on 29 April 2008 in by David Tan, Affiliate

I previously mentioned that ebay is disallowing the sales of digital products such as ebooks, mp3, videos, etc in their site. The reason is because they have a sister site that they're growing to sell digital goods, called Payloadz.com . That's right folks. And they function in the ways of google where they're also gonna group competitors into the mix, possibly to rule them all. Some of their payment processes that they allow, includes clickbank.

Like clickbank, you get a store, an affiliate program to go with it, supports downloads and CD fulfillment.

So if ebay/paypal is going full time into the sales of digital good, utilizing their affiliate system, it may cause a stir. Plus with free basic accounts for sellers, plenty will use it.

The sales of digital goods is gonna increase but I wonder, won't it reach a point where it's pointless to buy as it's easily distributed for free? Still a long way to reach it, where digital products mainly functions as a promotional, advertising, marketing tool rather than real profit. In the mean time, there's money to be made.

Ofcourse with more and more clickbank clones joining into the fray, one hopes that it will more or less provide some 'standards' or 'quality certification' to these digital goods rather than encourage more and more junk to flood the market.
