Blogging - Beyond The Dollars And Cents

Almost all internet users have a blog, if not multiple blogs. They're free, easy to use, and if you're good, they can make you some money.
That's probably what you're hoping to do right now with the ABOT ads you're serving and the 10 posts a day regiment you've decided upon.
Truth is, there is a lot more to blogging than just commission dollars at the end of the day. Most bloggers don't even get enough readers to generate a significant income from affiliate networks. So how are you to profit while building up your reader count?
Well, there are other ways to indirectly monetize your blog. For starters, you should join a (relatively large) blog circle/community. Most of these communities organize regular meet ups and give out gifts like movie vouchers and books. They might organize a contest with sponsored prizes, like an iPhone!
You might not be getting a fat cheque, but it adds up. If you're active you'd probably 'make' a few hundred dollars in prizes alone. And these are given out freely or require close or no brain power whatsoever.
You might even get personal sponsorships if you make it big - maybe starting with a product review or a restaurant review, and moving on to major media events, special previews, and talk shows. These priveleges money cannot buy.
All in all, blogging has many perks and is probably the easiest (and fastest) way to become a celebrity nowadays.
And it's really not about the money. It's the other perks that are worth your 10 posts a day.
